I am ________.

“You know, I really think that ___________ is not really your thing {music, speaking, fashion, sports, writing, …… etc.} “. “You are NOT ____________ enough”. Have you ever had someone discourage you from doing something that you are passionate about? I know, I have! People have no idea how just one word can plant a seed of insecurity in one’s heart. Just because you may not be where you want to be, does not disqualify you from attaining or mastering that gift and that calling that is on the inside of you.

No one knows you better than God! Stop trying to prove something that He has already spoken. When God called Moses to go Egypt to speak to the Pharaoh about liberating the Israelites, Moses immediate response was “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt”? (Exodus 3:11 NIV) Moses’ limited focus was on his “dysfunction” and not on what God could do through him. The enemy will try to use your history to inform your insecurity. However, God does not operate in that way. Your history will be used as a cornerstone where God will build on your strengths, experience, and background. God used everything in Moses’ background to help him fulfill his calling; his upbringing in Egypt, his knowledge of the Pharaoh, his understanding of Egypt, and his time in the wilderness.

Insecurity is the ultimate insult to God. Some of us are so insecure about our deficiencies because we are comparing ourselves to someone else’s calling. When you are deficient, you insult your creator. Your past won’t limit you because, God has already gone into your future. Your deficiencies and what you are able to do will serve as a platform for God to fulfill his purpose because sometimes, God wants you to do things that you feel you aren’t really good at.

“So, get going. I’ll be right there with you—with your mouth! I’ll be right there to teach you what to say. He said, “Oh, Master, please! Send somebody else! “God got angry with Moses: “Don’t you have a brother, Aaron the Levite? He’s good with words, I know he is. He speaks very well. In fact, at this very moment he’s on his way to meet you. When he sees you he’s going to be glad. You’ll speak to him and tell him what to say. I’ll be right there with you as you speak and with him as he speaks, teaching you step by step. He will speak to the people for you. He’ll act as your mouth, but you’ll decide what comes out of it.” (Exodus 4:12-16 MSG)

 Moses did not doubt what God was able to do; his doubt was whether He was fit with what God was calling him to do. Aren’t you thankful that we have a God that says “Even though you won’t go with my original plan, I will still use you”.

Our God is the God who is.

What God is, you are!

In Him, you are ________________________ . {sufficient, gracious, courageous, tenacious, …. etc.}

“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.” (Ephesians 3:20 MSG)
