The week leading up to Easter is one of the weeks in the year I always look forward to. Regardless of the hours preparing for Resurrection Sunday, I love seeing the hundreds of hands raised high as people accept Jesus into their lives as their Lord and Savior and, this day serves as a reminder to the world of the love Jesus has for us and the freedom we can walk out daily because of what He did on the cross. A new life can begin just because of an invitation or a word spoken, which reminds me of this: God’s greatest passion is people.
Recently, the word passion has been on my mind. What are you genuinely passionate about? What is something that you love doing that, even if you never received anything in return, it would all be worth it in the end? For Jesus, it was dying on the cross for the world, even if they would never love Him back. Personally, I am passionate about the ministry. Specifically, I have a consuming fire within me to lead others to find Jesus and the fullness of joy that He brings through worship, writing, speaking, and building relationships with others. More than ever, I have decided to be consistent in patiently waiting and trusting God to have his way in every aspect and detail of my life. For this reason, I do everything with passion perspective, purpose, and peace, knowing in who I place my trust in. The deeper I go in my relationship with Jesus, the more I am identified with Him. Allow Christ to invade your space and be a proof of who He is to others. When you allow Jesus to reign in your life, His abundance will pour in you and through you for the world to know.
Remember this ALWAYS:
- You have NOTHING to fear. {Walk in boldness}
- God is for you.
- God doesn’t take a day off; He is working behind the scenes 24/7. Remember, God does not operate on our time.
- God has a plan.
- His plan > Your plan
Until you are willing to move from the safety of the shore unto the danger of the deep, you will never know the fullness of God’s riches in your life because it is in that moment that you become a proof of Jesus to the world. There is nothing more liberating knowing that a life with Jesus is not just the right way to live but, the best way to live. Stay faithful in the ins and outs, and watch how God rewards you.
“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace”. (2 Corinthians 4:16 MSG)
You were born for a cause that embraces humanity but resonates from heaven. The degree to which you are willing to embrace discomfort is the degree to which you’ll continue to grow and change personally and organizationally. Jesus is not an addition to your life, He should be your focal point.
Be intentional this Easter, and invite someone to experience what a life with Christ is like, all they have ever wanted but never knew they needed. If you are in the Miami Area, I invite you to come this Sunday to one of the five services at Metro Life Church, for more information, please check out www.metrolifechurch.com/easter.
Remember: our thoughts, desires, responses, and attitudes are shaped into the image of Christ as we allow Him to work in our hearts.
