A month before I began Flourishing by Faith, I felt that I needed to redirect my focus and attention to something new but, I didn’t know what the “new” thing was. At that point in time, I was in a position of great leadership at my university and embracing the idea of ”getting out of my comfort zone” wasn’t really an option I was interested in exploring.
Fear only operates effectively by the element of surprise. The reason ___________ keeps on defeating you is because this stuff keeps on surprising you. Your ability to not embrace temporary discomfort because you are afraid of uncertainty is simply telling God “You are not good enough for me” and ” I can’t trust you”. The root of your inferiority is just fear, which does not come from our Heavenly Father.
Shine a light on your insecurities and begin to see them through different lenses. It is not that you no longer have fear; fear doesn’t have (power over) you.
Change your perspective and start looking at things this way:
See your guilt as an opportunity for grace.
See you hopelessness as an opportunity for faith.
Every offense that comes your way is a brand new opportunity for forgiveness.
I know this sounds easier than it looks, but you have to start somewhere. It is not about being successful and attaining perfection after every decision made and word spoken because let’s face it; I am not perfect and neither are you. It is about going to The One who has all the answers.
How is your faith?
Flourishing by Faith is more than just the name of this blog; it is something that I live out every single day. I don’t know all the answers and I don’t know what tomorrow will hold but one thing I am sure of; God is with me and He knows every intricate detail of my life. I don’t need to worry or live in fear because Christ has already won and I am more than a conqueror. All the Lord is asking you and I is to trust Him.
He is asking you today to get out of the boat and walk on water alongside Him.
You will not discover who you are if you stay in the boat. God is interested in growing your faith and the incredible calling {and purpose} He has on your life. Don’t let what you’ve been called in the past make you miss who you’ve been called to today.
