Why is it that I want to live stressed, exhausted, and striving to perform and prove myself?
It’s because I keep putting my eyes on the things of this world while comparing myself with everyone else’s accomplishments instead of focusing and leaning on the all sufficiency of Jesus.
“…..Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30
When you are stressed out, you’ve taken on responsibilities of things you don’t have the power to carry. Jesus is not surprised by your stress, anxiety, and exhaustion. He instead invites you to walk with Him so He can give you the peace you are seeking.
Jesus is so clear that life with Him is marked with rest, grace and freedom.
How are you resting?
You can’t really rest well if you are not living well.
Make sure that you are giving yourself to things that matter when you are awake so that you are exhausted when it is time to sleep.
A rested soul is a trusting soul. Therefore, you can trust in knowing that, He wants to give you rest as you follow His instructions to Walk, Work and Watch.
So what choice will you make today?
Walk with Him.
You are shaped by what you start with.
When a new day begins, begin with Him.
When you realign yourself with God, you’ve added a factor that doesn’t allow a negative outcome to prevail.
“I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!” Ephesians 1:18-19 (MSG)
Be Resilient. Resiliency is becoming like a palm tree. You learn to adapt and adjust to situations {aka unexpected circumstances} in your life. If you learn how to adapt and adjust, then you get to enjoy the spaces and the notes in between life.
Work with Him.
When you read the Word of God each day, it acts as a mirror as it reveals who you are, who you are not, and who you are meant to be. Through the word, see what God sees when He looks at you.
Move towards a healthy identity!
You are not designed to do life alone.
God created you for community and relationships.
You have to take some kind of risks. It is people who break you, but it is also people who God uses to heal you. Don’t allow the past pain to close you off from your future healing.
Watch how He does it.
The vantage point from which you see things will determine the life you create. You were never created to live a life you could live without God.
What God has promised, gets the “yes” in the name of Jesus.
God says, “I am changing you, I am repositioning you, I am getting ready to bless you again! I know what I am doing with you and in your life, and if You honor me and put me first in every aspect of your life, I will take you from glory to glory and from victory to victory.”
What do you want from God?
God has a way of replenishing if you let him.
Bold faith stands on the shoulders of quiet trust.
Cultivate that place of rest and trust.
There is purpose in the process.
What the enemy sent to stop you, God will use to prepare you.
