As I begin to write this blog, I can’t help but look outside my window and see the beauty and wonder of my city. A lot has happened in the last two weeks for Miami. And I can say the same about me. 52 weeks ago, I celebrated my 21st birthday and here I am again celebrating my 22nd.
I can fill up these lines trying to encourage and remind you about the mountain top blessings that await after going through many valleys but you already know that.
Instead, I want to gift you on my 22nd birthday what God has taught me in the past year, in hopes that this will allow you to see God in a new way.
One of the best ways you can be intentional with your life is to always be growing. The decisions you make today determine the stories you tell about your life tomorrow. So, the best decision you can make is always the next one. People who never get started leave no room for ambiguity. Therefore, decide today to take steps that will move you closer to becoming all that God has made you to be. I know that It takes a lot of courage and bravery to step out in faith but we were not meant to stay confined within the limits of fear. Your relationship with our Heavenly Father gave you the freedom to start everyday with confidence knowing that regardless of what may happen today you serve a God who is with you, who knows your tomorrow, and who helps you complete what He called you to start.
Everything is useful in the hands of God.
It is when I surrendered it all and gave God both my wholeness and brokenness, that I let Him make the difference. I came to the realization that when I stop obsessing over what I want, only then I can find what I really need. Which allowed me to go past my unmet expectations and to pursue Christ wholeheartedly.
Don’t focus on what hasn’t happened yet.
Instead, remind yourself of what God has already done.
Let’s make the daily decision to listen to what God is telling us not everybody else.
“God wants your story to be more than “happily ever after”; He wants you to be fulfilled “eternally ever after”.” – Craig Groeschel
You and I have more people to encourage, more stories to writes, more victories to win, more friends to meet, more of a difference to make, and more of God’s goodness to experience.
Remember, it is more about who you are becoming than where you are going.
