 It’s Time to Flourish

Every New Year begins with a list filled with resolutions. Resolutions are great but, they don’t mean anything if you don’t create tangible steps to accomplish them. My desire for 2018 was to begin differently than any other year. I decided that the pain of where I was was far greater than the pain of change. And we are five days in and, I can confidently say that I have.

…… So, what exactly was the catalyst of change you may ask?

The determination to create achievable goals towards making what matters happen.

The winter served as a place of refuge where I was able to reset myself physically, spiritually, and mentally as I experienced the freedom and love of God like never before.

This season of significance served as the cornerstone to begin my year with intention. I began by completely surrendering everything to Jesus and gave Him complete control.

Surrendering promotes peace, while staying the same creates complacency.

In the past, I had let fear, stress, inadequacy, and others opinions paralyze me. but now, I am ready to let God’s view of who I am lead all of me.

What do you hope your year will look like? What do you want to grow or change?

Start by asking in prayer for a revelation of what your year should look like, not based on your dreams but on the God dreams that exceed your expectations.

Prayer is a simply a conversation with God birthed out of a humble heart to seek Him.

God is a personal God. Spend time with Him in His word too! The time you spend getting to know Him will help you recognize His voice and give you the confidence to obey His instructions, even if He asks you to move.

“Study the Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written In it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (Joshua 1:8 NLT)

What if today is the day that everything changes?

Find the balance between the wisdom found in taking steps of action, and the wisdom in waiting in God to tell you where to walk.

Be intentional with your relationships, your time, and how you spend the resources God has given you; and watch how you’ll step into a new year filled with suddenlies as you watch Him exceed your expectations.
