I love hearing the stories of people who never give up and lose hope regardless of their circumstances. In 2014, Kevin Durant won the Most Valuable Player award for the NBA. In his acceptance speech, Durant spoke about his upbringing, the many challenges He faced growing up with a single mom who worked so hard to sustain the family, and about How his mom always pushed him to love Basketball even when times were tough. His mom saw greatness in him even when others didn’t. I tell you this story just to remind you to never forget the person who sees potential in you, even when you are not successful just yet. Your harvest is just in a seed form.
“Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at his word, and as a result he became the father of many nations. God’s declaration over him came to pass: Your descendants will be so many that they will be impossible to count!” (Romans 4:18 TPT) Paul is writing to the church in Rome about not losing their faith by showing to the people the example of Abraham. If you know anything about Abraham, God had promised him that his wife, Sarah, would have a son. Sarah womb was dead and to make matters worse she was of very old age (between 90-100 years old !?!?!). Despite all odds that were against Abraham and Sarah, even when they lost hope at times and got too impatient, their lives were narrated by their faith not by their feelings. The narrator you choose determines how your story plays out. You always become what you believe and, what you believe is eventually reflected in what you become.
Faith is not a feeling; it is a decision. Until you face it (it can be limited thinking, discouragement, pride, resentment, bitterness, anger, disappointment …. Etc.), faith can’t fix it. Don’t judge the tree by the size of the seed; attach the seed of your dream to the seed of your faith. If it is His vision, He will give you the provision!
“In spite of being nearly one hundred years old when the promise of having a son was made, his faith was so strong that it could not be undermined by the fact that He and Sarah were incapable of conceiving a child. He never stopped believing God’s promise, for he was made strong in his faith to father a child. And because he was mighty in faith and convinced that God had all the power needed to fulfill his promises, Abraham glorified God!” (vv.19-21)
What are you believing for in faith, today? What dreams has God planted in your heart? I want to know about them and pray + believe for them with you! Feel free to comment below what it is!
