Yesterday, I kicked off the first day of my senior year at Florida International University. I can’t believe time has flown by so quickly! I am now seeing some of my lovely wild and untamed ladies, who were yesterday in high school, start off their journey as college freshmen. As I attended my classes, I began to see and jot down everything I needed to do over the next 14 weeks and my mind just started to race. Plenty of thoughts, deadlines, and expectations rushed through me, which got me thinking about my insecurities and things I had struggled with.

HOLD UP.

I under any circumstance cannot allow my past to affect me. God has done amazing things and is perfecting his work every day in my life. My yesterday, who I thought I was, was left in the waters of Jasper, Ga.

With this being said, with all the chaos that may surround you, especially if you are setting a new pace for your life, remember whose you are and what God says about you every single day.

You are a Child of God.

You are called.

Our mind is our greatest battlefield and in the midst of a war; we must be strong. The mind is the source for every action we take, every decision we make, and every thought we allow to linger.

I wonder what our lives would look like if we would reflect on the word of God instead of looking at other people to see if we measure up.

Just today, I was reminded of this:  

It is because we misunderstand our own value that we find ourselves wanting someone elses. 

You have everything you need on the inside of you.

A career is what you were paid to do.

A calling is what you were made to do.

My calling is to be in Full Time Ministry.

Some people may not understand it but, I know the Lord placed it there for a reason. I once thought I was inadequate and insecure yet, those titles don’t define me anymore.

God’s word is alive in me and, I am gifted by God to communicate His life changing truth.

I am confident and more than good enough.

I wake up with purpose, direction, and meaning every single day!

In whatever season you are in, whether you are a student, a parent, or you are simply running the race set before you, don’t get caught up in the trap comparison.

There has been a call placed on your life.

This is not just a random call; it is a specific call.

 

I know that I will be a true mother who is laying down her life to help those around her thrive, grow, and fulfill their purpose in God.

What is yours?

Whenever you compare yourself to somebody else, all you end up doing is exerting a whole lot of psychological, physical, and emotional energy trying to keep up and competing with someone you never called or created to be.

You are a Son and a Daughter of a King!
