I love listening to music when I get ready. I usually have certain playlists on my phone that I play. However, recently, I have been doing something different. I pick a specific artist and, I shuffle all of their albums. I did this exact thing on Tuesday with Bethel and I saw something new when I heard “This Is What You Do”.
This song talks about new seasons and how God works within you as you discover daily what He is bringing forth in your life. The more I walk with God, the more I learn that we are always fighting battles. Some are easier than others but, all of them serve as preparation to fight even bigger ones. As you make the choice to trust in God’s ability more than yours, you begin to see what is beyond the battle that is in front of you. That is when you actually begin to live a life of faith.
It is when you run towards the battle even when you don’t want to that you will see God do the kinds of things He desires to do in and through you. One of my favorite preachers (Levi Lusko) articulated perfectly the purpose behind facing and overcoming your giants when He said “True Bravery isn’t feeling no fear- it’s being afraid and moving forward anyway.”
That is what you and I are able to do when you live in the faith zone. Yes, there are going to be questions without answers; but to actually walk in the belief that you know who God is and that you stand on His promises, there has to be faith and for there to faith, there has to be mystery. When you are focused on what God will do for you, you are postured to be effective in the present.
Hard times unlock the doors to places you could not get into any other way. It is in the waiting that God does his greatest work. I can boldly confess that because it is where I am at today. It is when we find joy in the waiting being confident that He will do it that, our Heavenly Father begins to create new things in our lives.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jereimiah 17:7-8)
NOW is the perfect time for you to strengthen your faith and to begin to walk by it. Battles reveal how strong your foundation is and, the worst thing you can do is prepare for a trial you are currently facing. Prepare for the battle you are not yet in. As you wait on God, you heart and soul will be strengthened and, this will enable you to see the invisible so that you can do the impossible.
Having hope is like being safe in the arms of God. No matter where you go or what happens to you, you are covered.
