Risen, Empowered and Confident

“God met me more than halfway, he freed me from my anxious fears. Look at him; give him your warmest smile. Never hide your feelings from him. When I was desperate, I called out, and God got me out of a tight spot. God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray. Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him.” Psalm 34:4-8

I couldn’t help myself.

These verses are too good not share and start out this blog post.

I love what David, the son of Jesse, wrote in a time of uncertainty while being forced to flee from his country to the land of the Philistines. Regardless of what was happening around him, David didn’t let the worst get the best of him. Instead, he sprinted towards God, the one who has never failed and has promised him a joy that comes in the morning.

I wonder how many of us are like David. Do we run towards God forsaking what is trying to afflict us or are we caught in the problems of today, in the outcome of the elections, or even the fears of tomorrow?

I was once David.

I remember the days in which God literally rescued me and delivered me from my enemies. He turned my frown upside down and, I simply can’t stop telling everyone about his goodness and his faithfulness. Because of Christ, my family is closer, my body is stronger, my faith is deeper, my leadership is sharper, and my writing is powerful because God’s word is alive in me and, I am gifted by God to communicate his life changing truth.

Can you say the same?

Don’t let yesterday’s pain keep you from the bright future the Lord has designed for you.  Your happiness does not rely on your circumstances changing, but on you changing how you see your circumstances.

Be Confident in knowing who God is and allow Him to move in your life!

Fear originates itself in self-centeredness.

Confidence and Boldness is found when we lose ourselves in Christ.

I have come to the realization that my commitment to God and my passion for following Jesus cannot be compartmentalized. Flourishing by Faith is an outlet where I share bits and pieces of my personal story and relationship with God and how the word that God deposits on my heart can be applied to a situation that you may be going through.

You were created to join God in the work that He does. Stepping out unto the unknown always requires courage and;

“When you live your life knowing the mission and calling and voice of God in your soul and you know where that compass is driving you forward, you will become a rare commodity in a world searching for direction”. – Erwin McManus
